The International Network of Child Law Centres (INCLC), launched in December 2007, brings together organisations around the world which are using the law to protect and promote children’s rights. The goals of the network are to share and develop strategic approaches and innovative ideas to promote implementation of children’s rights, both through advocacy and representation in individual cases and through broader legislative reform.
The International Network of Child Law Centres is funded by the Sigrid Rausing Trust.
Spotlight on Member Campaigns
The 50% campaign is an initiative of the Caucus for Children’s Rights in Tanzania, of which INCLC Member Mkombozi is an active partner. It is based on the statistic that more than half of Tanzania’s national population is comprised of children and youth, and yet they have not been put centre stage in national or political party planning.
The 50% campaign challenges Tanzania’s lawmakers, media and civil servants to recognise the country’s startling population demographic and, consequently, to do more for Tanzania’s children and youth. 50% campaigns for legal reform so that Tanzania adheres to international standards of child rights and protection. 50% encourages key agencies and individuals to join the Caucus for Children’s Rights in piloting a child protection system in Arusha.
