One of the easiest mediums available for such people is the commercial websites and these people are ready to pay for the subscription. This has risen into the industry with large profit making option in Europe. These websites show real children sexually exploited or sexually abused.

Child pornography is a tangible threat to each child in entire Europe. Studies suggest that 10 to 20 percent of the children in Europe have to go through one or the other form of sexual abuse during childhood and child pornography is most effective among them. The child victims who are portrayed in this crime are getting younger and even the numbers of the website serving the crime is increasing consistently. Report suggests that more than 200 real images containing child pornography are made online every day and circulated all over Europe. It is also stated that 20% of sex offenders raise on to commit more offences.

Swiss police have claimed that they have uncovered an internet child pornography network, which spans around 78 countries and at least 2000 IP addresses. The police had information from the Interpol that, a site which was actually based on hip hop music was a big platform for the access of child pornography using secret codes. The Austrian authorities uncovered that suspects ranging from the age of 14 to 69 have confessed of downloading from the child pornography sites.

Blocking the websites may not be a correct option to combat child pornography and this has raised many debates all over Europe. A European alliance of industry and police has started sharing financial information of those criminals who make profit from selling child pornography on the net. Huge internet, technology and financial corporations have combined with international agencies like child protection NGOs and European Commission to halt these criminal activities of distributing child sexual content on the web. This crime has to undergo some proportionate and effective sanctions which will require comprehensive approach to every minute phenomenon regarding child pornography.
