“Education should consist of a series of enchantments, each raising the individual to a higher level of awareness, understanding and kinship with all living things”, has been quoted by an anonymous author. Education opens the doors for a better future and a better life. Throughout your education, you not only develop you knowledge but also your overall personality. Education is the base to develop your life upon. Knowledge is more valuable than education because it is at much higher level of intellect. But until you develop a strong education base, you will not be able to gain knowledge or spread knowledge.
When a child is growing up its brain is much sharper to grasp newer things and facts. Hence primary education has been made mandatory in every country. Right after the child starts walking, talking and understanding things the process of education must start. No doubt, parents do continually impart knowledge to kids. But it is essential that a kid should go to school, sit amongst other children and get educated. Still many children are bereft form primary education. The reasons being:
• Economic conditions: In developing and underdeveloped courtiers many people are living under the poverty line. They cannot even afford the basic needs of food clothing and shelter. Due to which they avoid sending their kids to school.
• Less Awareness: There are people in some regions who still believe that education is not important. They would rather send their kids to work to earn some money. Parents themselves are many times illiterate hence they do not realize the significance of education.
• Less Nourishment: In underdeveloped nations, children are deprived of everything. They don’t get to eat for days together. Due to which, they are either malnourished or become prone to any fatal diseases. So, the kids are kept at home.
• Gender bias: Many cultures feel that girls are just medium to breed. Hence, it is difficult for these people to understand the impact of an educated mother or an educated wife. Girls are never sent to school in such regions.
The UN Convention of Rights of the Child has recognized this as a right for every child and hence made primary education free in many developing and underdeveloped countries. Educated children will transform into intelligent youth and will be an asset to any nation. As rightly said by Victor Hugo “He, who opens a school door, closes a prison”
